Cruise passengers to pay up to €20 to visit Mykonos or Santorini
Passengers of cruises calling at Mykonos and Santorini will as of next year face an increased levy that will amount to 20 euros per person in the summer, while other islands will have a significantly lower charge, and off-season levies will be considerably smaller, the government announced on Monday.
Fees are increasing in tourism
The Climate Resilience Fee, imposed on hotel rooms but also on short-term rentals, is increasing, as is the transient fee, paid to municipalities, alongside a considerable hike in the disembarkation fee for cruise passengers in saturated destinations such as Mykonos and Santorini, are the main effects of the new government policy on tourism.

Greece to tax cruise ship arrivals to protect popular islands from overtourism
Greece plans to impose a 20-euro levy on cruise ship visitors to the islands of Santorini and Mykonos during the peak summer season, in a bid to avert overtourism, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Sunday.
Greece relies heavily on tourism, the main driver of the country's economy which is still recovering from a decade-long crisis that wiped out a fourth of its output.

Fraport Greece reports 5.1% revenue growth
Fraport Greece, the operator of 14 regional airports, saw turnover rise 5.1% to €201 million during the first half of the year.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 12.2% to nearly €103 million and passenger traffic was 7.8% up, to 12.7 million, with only Mykonos Airport showing a decline.

Another well-known restaurant in Mykonos, the island of winds, was found by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to be issuing no receipts.
A total of eleven receipts were missing, amounting to over 7,000 euros.
