Six suitors for PPC lignite plants, including a second firm from China
The five main bidders in the first stage of the previous tender for Public Power Corporation's four lignite plants at Meliti and Megalopoli threw their hats into the ring again on Friday, in addition to another company from China.
Mytilineos to build Thriasio transit center
The construction of the transit center at Thriasio in western Attica is set to get under way after almost two decades of efforts in that direction.
The latest development concerns the selection of the Mytilineos group to construct the infrastructure of the center that will be developed and operated in the next 60 years by the consortium of ETVA VIPE with Goldair.

Mytilineos announces earnings increase in H1
The Mytilineos group on Wednesday announced a 4 percent increase in after-tax and minority rights earnings over the first half of the year, reaching up to 83.9 million euros, from 80.7 million a year earlier.
Earnings per share amounted to 0.587 euros against 0.564 euros in the first half of 2017.

Czech interest in PPC plant tender

Mytilineos, former PPC executive to stand trial on bribery charges
An Athens appeals council on Friday indicted businessman Evangelos Mytilineos and a former CEO of Public Power Corporation, Stergios Nezis, on bribery and money laundering charges respectively, in a case that dates from 2003.

Mytilineos lands project in Libya
Greek group Mytilineos signed an agreement with the General Electricity Company of Libya on Wednesday for the engineering, procurement and construction of a new electricity production unit at Tobruk. The deal, signed in the Libyan capital Tripoli, concerns a vital unit for the Libyan grid, using natural gas and with a total output of over 650 megawatts.
