Electricity companies looking for ways out of market impasse
Greece's entire electricity market is seeking an alternative plan to avoid a short circuit that would bust it, due to the risks created by the plan of former energy minister Panos Skourletis for the opening up of the market.
Power auctions rejected by all players
Two out of the country's three biggest alternative providers of electricity, Protergia, which belongs to the Mytilineos Group, and Elpedison, jointly controlled by Edison and Hellenic Petroleum, have openly disputed the model for power auctions aimed at reducing Public Power Corporation's market share.

METKA EGN signs multiple project contracts
London-based METKA EGN, a Mytilineos Group subsidiary, announced it has signed a contract with UK company Noriker Power Limited aimed at the creation of an innovative power production unit with a capacity of 20 megawatts.
This will include a major installation for the storage of energy in batteries that will offer fast frequency response services for the UK market.

Mytilineos reaps distinctions
Athens-listed Mytilineos Group topped the chart of Greek companies for the fifth year in a row and was second among European firms in the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Bloomberg Survey, with a score of 78.1 percent.

Turnover of 1.5-1.7 bln for Mytilineos
The absorption of the Mytilineos Group's subsidiaries - METKA, Aluminium of Greece, Protergia and Protergia Thermo - by Mytilineos Holdings is expected to be completed by end-August 2017, the group has announced, in a move that will create a new industrial and economic force in Greece.

Mytilineos merges its subsidiaries
Athens-listed Mytilineos Group is entering a new era, as it announced on Wednesday that it is conducting an absorption-type merger of all its main subsidiaries (METKA, Aluminium of Greece and Protergia).
