The National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (MIET) and its Archive of Greek Literature and History (ELIA) are hosting a bazaar with discounts coming to as much as 70 percent on selected books, magazines, post cards, old newspapers and other memorabilia from the 19th and 20th centuries, in Greek as well as other languages.

Drapetsona a step closer to getting a park

The Attica Regional Council has expropriated a 20-hectare plot belonging to the National Bank of Greece, paving the way for Piraeus' Drapetsona suburb to get its first proper park.
Along with several parcels of land already owned by the municipality, the new plot is seen as the necessary addition to launch an ambitious overhaul of an area that once housed a waste treatment plant.

European distinction for Bernitsas Law firm

Greek firm Bernitsas Law has been named the Most Innovative Law Firm of the Year in Greece at the 20th International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Annual European Awards.

"Bernitsas won the award due to its role in key transactions of 2018 that will influence legal practice in a number of fields, in Greece and maybe elsewhere," the IFLR said in a statement.

Eurobank names Zanies new non-executive chairman

Greece's Eurobank has appointed former minister of finance Giorgos Zanias as its new non-executive chairman, the lender said on Monday.
The change was prompted by former chairman Nikolaos Karamouzis's decision to depart, the bank said in a news release.
Karamouzis announced his intention last year to bow out at the end of March 2019.
