Covid case count up to almost 460

Ljubljana – As many as 458 new coronavirus cases were logged in Slovenia on Monday, a weekly rise of 78, while there were no deaths, the data released by the Health Ministry shows. The number of persons hospitalised due to Covid-19 dropped by 5 to 21 from Sunday to Monday, and another four persons were in intensive care, the same as on Sunday.

NIJZ head’s powers curtailed under government decision

Ljubljana – Against the backdrop of speculations that the head of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), Milan Krek, will soon be dismissed or will step down, the government changed the rules governing the institution so that Krek will no longer perform the duties of NIJZ medical director.

Slovenia logs 255 new Covid cases on Thursday

Ljubljana – Slovenia reported 255 new coronavirus cases for Thursday, down 31 on the day before and 39 in weekly comparison, shows data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). No additional Covid-related deaths were reported. The NIJZ estimates that there are currently 3,915 active cases in the country, down by some 150 on the day before.

No Covid deaths on Wednesday

Ljubljana – The number of new daily coronavirus infections recorded in Slovenia on Wednesday dropped by 15% compared to a week ago to 286 cases. No deaths were reported. Currently, 36 Covid patients are at regular Covid wards and three in intensive care, according to the Health Ministry.

No deaths, 327 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday

Ljubljana – Slovenia confirmed 327 cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, 17% fewer than the same day a week ago. No patient with confirmed infection died yesterday, according to the Health Ministry. Thirty-six patients were hospitalised for Covid-19 as their main condition this morning, including three in intensive care.

No. of new coronavirus cases keeps dropping

Ljubljana – A total of 260 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia on Friday, almost 50% fewer than a week ago. The National Institute of Public Health estimates that there are now 4,974 active cases in the country, a daily drop of 297. Both the 7-day average of new cases and the 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people dropped, to 298 and 235, respectively.

New coronavirus cases down daily, weekly

Ljubljana – A total of 393 coronavirus infections were confirmed in Slovenia on Tuesday, a drop of 46% from Monday and of 38% from a week ago. There were no deaths, fresh data shows. Health Ministry data shows there are currently 34 Covid-19 patients at regular Covid wards, down four from yesterday, and two in intensive care, three fewer.

Coronavirus infections continue to drop

Ljubljana – A total of 489 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Slovenia on Saturday in what is a continuation of a week-on-week drop in cases. According to the Health Ministry, 221 patients with Covid as their primary or secondary condition are hospitalised, up three from the day before, including 33 in intensive care, five more. Two patients died.
