7-day average of new infections falls below 700

Ljubljana – Slovenia saw another 770 people test positive for coronavirus on Thursday, to push the 7-day average of new cases to 689, data released by the government show. Eight patients with Covid-19 died.

Of the 5,222 PCR tests performed yesterday 14.7% came back positive. In addition, 25,447 rapid antigen tests were performed.

The National Committee for anti-COVID Vaccination (CNCAV) informs that in the last 24 hours there were 49,386 vaccine doses administered, among which 39,991 - Pfizer, 5,847 - AstraZeneca and 3,548 - Moderna, according to the data released by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) through the National Electronic Vaccine Registry.

Slovenia to get 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine fewer than planned

Ljubljana – A new shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Slovenia on Thursday, containing 14,400 shots, the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) told the STA. However, in the next couple of weeks, 100,000 doses fewer than planned will be supplied, the NIJZ added.

Ljubljana – Slovenia confirmed 952 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, a drop of 21% from the same day a week ago, to push the 7-day average to 728 from 764 the day before. Covid-19 hospitalisations dropped below 500 again, but four patients died, data released by the government show.

Kacin says delays in vaccination could still be compensated

Ljubljana – Jelko Kacin, the coordinator for the logistics of mass vaccination, told the STA on Monday he was happy with the vaccination process so far. He is confident that with increased supplies Slovenia can make up for some of the lost time. The country is very hopeful about the Janssen Pharmaceutica vaccine, which is yet to be approved.

881 new coronavirus cases, four deaths in Slovenia on Thursday

Ljubljana – The daily count of coronavirus cases dropped to 881 on Thursday, when 5,435 PCR tests were performed for a positivity rate of 16.2%, a further drop compared to the day before. The number of people in hospitals today increased somewhat to 521, including 85 in intensive care, government data show. Four patients died, the same as the day before.
