Ljubljana – A new daily record number of coronavirus infection cases was recorded in Slovenia on Saturday as 13,911 PCR tests were positive, with the positivity rate standing at 75.5%, the latest data from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) show. Total hospitalisations were up slightly, while as many as 18 people with Covid-19 died.

Ljubljana – A total of 9,858 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Thursday, show fresh official figures. The estimated total of actively infected people is nearing 100,000. The National Institute of Public Health estimates there are 96,481 active cases currently in the country, an increase of almost 6,000 on the day before. This means almost 5% of the population is infected.

Ljubljana – Parliamentary Speaker Igor Zorčič has tested positive for coronavirus and is in self-isolation, the parliament said on Friday, while Defence Minister Matej Tonin, the president of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi), also said on Twitter he has tested positive.

Zorčič tested positive on Thursday and was thus among the 9,858 infections confirmed in Slovenia that day.

Ljubljana – The number of new coronavirus cases continues to drop in Slovenia, with 677 new cases detected on Sunday, the lowest daily count since mid-October. The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) estimates there are about 22,100 active cases in the country. Government data show that a further 16 Covid-19 patients died yesterday.

Another 11 people died with Covid-19 yesterday. The 7-day average of new cases dropped by 61 from the day before to 1,446, and the cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 people fell by 36 to 1,099.

Ljubljana – A total of 1,847 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Slovenia on Tuesday, a daily drop of 5% and a weekly drop of 18%, show the figures the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) released on Wednesday. 28% of all PCR tests came back positive, a weekly drop of around 4 percentage points. 16 Covid-19 patients died.

Ljubljana – Equal Opportunities Ombudsman Miha Lobnik has noted that the permanent ban on blood donations for all homosexual men is discriminatory, as they are excluded from taking part in this important philanthropic activity despite the fact that the safety of blood donations is also ensured by additional testing for viruses.

Ljubljana – Slovenia recorded 775 new coronavirus cases for Sunday, the lowest daily count since 24 October and down a quarter from the same day a week ago, fresh figures from the National Institute of Public Health show. The 7-day average of new cases has thus dropped to 1,763, down 37 from the previous day, and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 fell to 1,361, down by 29.

Ljubljana – As many as 1,116 new coronavirus infections were recorded in Slovenia on Saturday, down 24% from a week ago, the figures released on Sunday by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) show. The 7-day average of new cases dropped by 51 to 1,800 in a day and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 population by 53 to 1,390.
