Delo says Pošta Slovenije developments might signal rift in coalition

Ljubljana – Commenting on the resignation of a Pošta Slovenije supervisor affiliated with the coalition New Slovenia (NSi), the newspaper Delo says on Friday that quarrelling on this matter might be the beginning of the end of the coalition, but only if there are bigger skeletons hiding in the closet.

Parties critical of govt as EU approves state funding of STA

Ljubljana – Several parties welcomed on Thursday the European Commission’s announcement that the state funding of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) does not constitute state aid because the STA is performing a public service. Most opposition parties said the government had inquired about this to delay the payment. The government has not responded.

Opposition files motion to oust labour minister

Ljubljana – Four opposition parties have filed a motion to oust Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Minister Janez Cigler Kralj over his work during the epidemic and the ministry’s decision to grant funds to an NGO with close links to the minister. They need 46 votes in the 90-member National Assembly to succeed.
