The defendant's bribery conviction (for which he could face up to life in prison), however, was time-barred under the statute of limitations.
Greece to boost privatisations
The head of Greece’s privatisations agency (HRADF) said on July 6 that it will make up for a revenue shortfall last year by raising a total €6bn by 2018. privatisations.
In 2016, for instance, Greece raised €500m from asset sales. Its target was €2bn.

Greece aims for 6 bln euros in privatizations revenues in 2017-18
Greece aims to raise 6 billion euros in privatization revenues through 2018, the head of its privatizations agency said on Thursday.
Chairwoman Lila Tsitsogiannopoulou told reporters Greece was targeting 2 billion euros from privatizations this year and about 3.5 billion next year from the sale of stakes in telecoms group OTE and the Athens International Airport, among other assets.

OPAP picks OTE for its telecoms upgrade
Greece's biggest betting company OPAP has selected Deutsche Telekom-controlled Greek telecoms group OTE to upgrade telecoms infrastructure at its outlets across the country, the two companies said on Tuesday.
The new systems will help OPAP to implement its 2020 development plan, which includes the launch of new products and services, OPAP said.

Utilization of assets to fetch 4.2 bln by the end of 2018
The utilization of state properties is supposed to fetch revenues of 2.15 billion euros this year and 2.07 billion euros next year according to the midterm fiscal plan being debated in Parliament. After that, revenues are slashed drastically to about 100 million euros per annum.
