Sparks flew Sunday as far-right President Jair Bolsonaro accused leftist rival Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of massive corruption -- and drew accusations of "destroying Brazil" in return -- as they faced off in their first election debate.

Brazil's full Supreme Court will consider the annulment of ex-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's corruption convictions, after a judge on March 12 denied an appeal by prosecutors to reverse the decision that cleared the way for his political comeback.

Turkey's third drillship arrived in Taşucu, Mersin, a coastal city in the Mediterranean region of the country on March 15, the energy minister said.

Fatih Dönmez said that the Turkish Petroleum Corporation took the ship into its inventory on Jan. 31 and it set off from the U.K.

State-run Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has added another drilling vessel to its fleet for $37.5 million, according to a prominent Turkish maritime publication.

Sertao, moored at Port Talbot in Britain for two years, was acquired by TPAO in an auction, Istanbul-based Denizcilik Dergisi (Maritime Magazine) reported on Feb. 8.

Brazil's Petrobras found suspicious activity in its oil trading business - and failed to stop it - six years before an alleged bribery scandal erupted in that unit in 2018, according to three people with knowledge of the situation and documents seen by Reuters.

Brazil's Prosecutor General Rodrigo Zhano has filed a request with the Federal Supreme Court for charges against former presidents of the country, Luis Inasi Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff, for the creation of a criminal organization. An accusation has also been raised against six other members of the Brazilian Labor Party. Reports Sega. 

Former Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, a top contender to win next year's presidential election, was convicted on corruption charges on July 12 and sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison. 

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison for corruption and money laundering, TASS reported, referring to Globo Television. That, however does not mean Lula will be sent to jail soon. Under Brazilian law, the sentenced person remains free while appealing his sentence, according to TARIC, quoted by Darik.

Brazilian prosecutors running a giant corruption probe threatened to quit Nov. 30 over what they said was intimidation by members of the graft-plagued Congress, many of whom face investigation.
