Bank forays to raise €3 billion
Greek banks will try to raise funds amounting to about 3 billion euros on the market this year, in a bid to strengthen their capital adequacy and shield their liquidity so that they will be able to support the economy.

ATHEX: Notable rise for majority of stocks
The only way was up on Thursday for most banks after Wednesday's decline, with the credit sector (although not Piraeus Bank) carrying the rest of the stock market to significant gains - albeit not as impressive as some highs recorded during the course of the session. Turnover also headed higher - another encouraging sign.

HFSF to take part in banks’ increase
A Finance Ministry bill that changes the founding charter of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), set up in 2010, is opening the way for the participation of the fund in the share capital increases of banks up to the stake it already owns.

Athens banks targeted in series of attacks
A series of attacks targeting banks across Attica took place early on Monday morning.
At 2.38 a.m. two ATMs and the facade of a Piraeus Bank branch in Agios Dimitrios were damaged by vandals.
That was followed at 3.39 a.m. by an arson attack on an ATM at the Eurobank branch in Galatsi.

Greece raises 2 bln euros through private placement with domestic banks
Greece raised 2 billion euros ($2.43 billion) by reopening a 30-year bond through a private placement with two Greek banks, according to the official government gazette, the first borrowing action for 2021.
National Bank of Greece and Piraeus Bank participated in the transaction. The Greek debt agency issued a 30-year bond last year through a private placement.
Piraeus Bank CoCos about to turn into shares
The conversion of Piraeus Bank's contingent convertible bonds (CoCos) into shares will be at a price of 6 euros per share, Kathimerini understands.
This is going to cost the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, the lender's majority shareholder, some €1.5 billion, according to sources.

ATHEX: Mixed day with window dressing
Athinon Avenue had another mixed session on Wednesday, with the benchmark closing virtually unchanged, while mid- and small-caps improved their end-of-year picture, with gainers outnumbering losers by a ratio of almost three-to-one overall.

ATHEX: Ellaktor leads benchmark to more gains
The benchmark of the Greek stock market reverted to its northbound course on Wednesday, but once again it ducked back below the 800-point mark before the close, after testing the waters during the session. It will probably take one more final push for the index to reach that level, and with tomorrow seeing the last triple-witching session of the year, anything is possible.

ATHEX: Index at level unseen since last February
The Greek bourse benchmark climbed on Friday to highs unseen since late February after its 11th consecutive day of gains, which were quite handsome too, on the day the third-quarter growth data were issued. Likewise, the Greek benchmark 10-year bond yield reached a new low on Friday, at 0.626 percentage points.
