ATHEX: Slight rise for benchmark
The tug-of-war between buyers and sellers lasted all day at the Greek bourse on Thursday, with the closing auctions seeing buyers edging ahead to secure the benchmark a marginal increase on its third consecutive day of growth, while daily turnover continued to decline.

ATHEX: Stock market index edges ever higher
Despite the slight drop of the banks index on Wednesday, the benchmark and the majority of stocks on the Greek bourse continued their rise, led by mid-caps, albeit at a slower pace than in previous days. This has taken the main index to another five-year record high after the seventh straight day of gains.

ATHEX: Banks feed another day of stock growth
The positive views on the Greek economy and its banks by various foreign firms, including rating agency DBRS Morningstar, continue to feed traders' buying interest, which is also trickling down to mid- and small-caps. This carried the benchmark through to another day of growth on Wednesday, on higher trading volume too thanks to a number of packages that changed hands.

ATHEX: Stock losses take bite out of weekly gains
Stocks suffered a day of losses at the Athens Stock Exchange on Friday, with just a handful of sessions left till the end of the year for traders to complete their window dressing, but the benchmark didn't lose all its weekly gains, posting an increase of 0.11 percent compared to the previous Friday.

ATHEX: Greek stock index reduces distance from 900-pt mark
The main index at Athinon Avenue edged even closer to the elusive milestone of 900 points on Tuesday, with positive reports fueling the growth of bank stock prices and other blue chips.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 893.37 points, adding 0.57 percent to Monday's 888.29 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index expanded 0.42 percent to 2,232.79 points.

The Greek bourse index came off a four-month high on Friday as traders cashed in some of this week's gains, European stock markets appeared reserved and Greek bond yields continued their ascent to top 1.50 percentage points.

ATHEX: S&P upgrade gives credit stocks a boost
The one-notch upgrading of Greece's credit rating by Standard & Poor's late last Friday translated into gains only for bank stocks, as most other listed companies saw their prices head lower in Tuesday's bourse session.
