Stellantis plans to discontinue the Ram ProMaster City, the smaller of the truck brand's two van offerings, after the 2022 model year as the segment dwindles rapidly in the U.S. and automakers focus on adding larger electric vans instead, Automotive News has reported.

The ProMaster City is built in Türkiye by carmaker Tofaş at its plant in the northwestern province of Bursa.

Stellantis Group, a major shareholder in Turkish carmaker Tofaş, has announced that the new Fiat Doblo will be produced in Spain.

Tofaş has been manufacturing Fiat Doblo since 2000 at its plant in the northwestern province of Bursa.

Italian-American carmaker Fiat Chrysler confirmed this morning that it is negotiating a merger with the French car group PSA, which owns Peugeot, France Press and DPA reported.

Electric vehicles in Europe will increase dramatically in the coming years. 214 electric vehicle models will be available in the European markets in 2021, up from about 60 in 2018. It is expected that by 2025 there will be over 330 available electric vehicle models .

France has announced it will end the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles in less than 25 years. The country plans to meet its targets under the Paris climate accord, new Ecology Minister Nicolas Hulot announced Thursday.

"We are announcing the end of the sale of gasoline and diesel cars by 2040," he said.

General Motors Co. is selling its loss-making European car business - including Germany's Opel and British brand Vauxhall - to French automaker PSA group.
