ATHEX: Benchmark jumps to an 8-year high
The benchmark at the Greek stock market soared to levels unseen in over eight years on Monday, as despite the US holiday traders showed considerable buying interest in local stocks. A number of market deals and the consensus that Greece will outperform the eurozone in growth terms this year appear to have attracted investors on a permanent basis.

Demands of energy-intensive industries
Greece's energy-intensive industries are exposed to wholesale market fluctuations, as the formula has not yet been found to ensure competitive electricity costs without threatening the system regarding the ceiling on producers' income, which collects money for subsidies of domestic tariffs.

Old wind turbines need replacement
The first generation of wind turbines, installed starting in the mid-1990s, is rapidly reaching the end of its lifetime and some are overdue for a replacement. It is estimated that about 775 wind turbines will have to be replaced by 2030.

Amidst uproar over skyrocketing energy costs, Mitsotakis announces rebates for households

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced in a nationally televised statement this evening that the government will give households with an annual income of up to 45,000 euros a rebate equivalent to 60 percent of the energy price hikes that occurred from December 2021 and up until this month.
Single Social Security Entity (EFKA) – The pensions that will be paid from tomorrow
On September 27, 2021, on Monday, the main and auxiliary pensions of the employees will be paid (i.e. the pensioners who come from the former Social Insurance Institute -Unified Insurance Fund for Employees (ΙΚΑ — ΕΤΑΜ), the Banks and the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE)) whose Social Security Number expires at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8.

ATHEX: Stock index closing in on 800 points
The fourth consecutive day of gains at the Athens bourse gave the the benchmark its biggest advance as it climbed close to the 800-point mark, in line with most other markets that were open on Monday. Turnover topped 50 million euros despite the fact that major markets such as those of the US, Hong Kong and China were closed due to holidays.

Power grid in urgent need of investment
