EU Adopts First Balkan-Mediterranean Cooperation Programme

The first EU programme for transnational cooperation covering the Balkan Peninsula and the Eastern Mediterranean region has been adopted, the European Commission announced on Monday.

The programme brings together EU member states Greece, Bulgaria and Cyprus and membership candidates Albania and Macedonia, the EU Commission said on its website.

EU Commission Adopts Bulgarian-Greek Cross Border Cooperation Programme

The European Commission (EC) adopted on Wednesday the cross border cooperation Interreg programme for Bulgaria and Greece for the 2014-2020 period.

The programme is worth EUR 129 M, with more than EUR 110 M provided from the European Regional Development Fund, the press service of EC informs.

EC gives Greece a €35-bn break to jump-start growth

Two days after an agreement paving the way for a new support program for Greece, the European Commission revealed plans on Wednesday to help Greece maximize its use of EU funds. As mandated by the Euro Summit of July 12-13, this will help mobilise more than €35 billion up to 2020 to support the Greek economy, provided that the conditions agreed upon by the Euro Summit will be met.

Transportation Minister Rus to discuss Master Plan with European Commissioner Bulc

Transportation Minister Ioan Rus will meet European Commissioner for Mobility and Transport Violeta Bulc on Thursday in Brussels; Romania's Transport Master Plan and current topics of the EU transportation policy are on the table.

MFE's Nica: Operational programme large infrastructure might be approved this June in Brussels

Minister of European Funds Marius Nica believes that Romania's Large Infrastructure Operational Programme might be approved in Brussels this June, if officials take all the necessary steps.
