Trove of 3rd millennium BC artifacts recovered
SOFIA -- Bulgarian officials have said that they recovered a collection of 15,000 priceless gold artifacts from a smuggling gang.
The objects date back to the 3rd millennium BC, it was announced in Sofia.
In the EU there are Trojan queens and Trojan rooks of Russia, but Bulgaria is at most a Trojan pawn, said former Bulgarian foreign minister Solomon Passy.
Passy was invited to the national TV channel bTV morning talkshow to comment on a recent publication in Reuters, which said Bulgaria was Russia's Trojan horse in the EU.
President Nicos Anastasiades said discovery of natural gas around Cyprus could galvanize international efforts to resolve a longstanding division of the island and smooth development of an alternative energy supply source to Russia.
But he said it was too early to speak of tangible progress in recently relaunched peace talks on the ethnically split island.
