Lamda raises 650 million euros in rights issue
Lamda Development raised 650 million euros via a rights issue to help finance part of a landmark project at Athens' former Elliniko airport, it said on Tuesday.
Lamda, controlled by the Latsis family, announced the cash call in October to help fund a 8-billion-euro plan to turn Elliniko into a complex of luxury homes, hotels, offices and a casino.

Bulgaria’s Kristalina Georgieva Becomes IMF Chief
The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund, IMF, selected Kristalina Georgieva, 66, to serve as IMF Managing Director, the fund announced on Wednesday.
The Bulgarian national succeeds Christina Lagarde, who is departing to head the European Central Bank as of October 1.

EU slaps tech giant with EUR 1.49 billion fine
This is the third fine for the US company in the past two years, Reuters is reporting.
Last year, EU regulators penalized Google with a record EUR 4.34 billion because the company used its Android operating system to block rivals.
This came after a fine of EUR 2.42 billion imposed on the company in 2017 for abusing its dominant market position.

Turkey's Kibar aiming for third model at Hyundai Assan factory, chairman says
Turkish conglomerate Kibar Holding plans to produce a third vehicle model at its Hyundai Assan factory in northwest Turkey, although the decision has not yet been finalized, chair Ali Kibar told Reuters on Sept. 5.
Kibar Holding produces 245,000 automotive units annually with its Korean partner Hyundai Motors.

Turkey puts travel ban on 20,000 foreign fighters
Turkey has slapped a ban on 20,000 suspected foreign fighters, preventing them from heading to Syria and Iraq, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said Sept. 2, a day after one soldier was killed another went missing in a suspected attack by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) on the Syrian border with Kilis.
