Doubt cast on deal for ANEK Lines
Concern is growing among ferry operator ANEK Lines' employees, creditors and suppliers about the completion of its rescue by Attica Group, following indications that the Competition Commission will request commitments from Attica that may change the economic logic of the deal, thereby alienating the largest Greek ferry company from discussions on an agreement.

Replacement ferry found for Samothraki route
The Artemis passenger ferry is from Monday to start serving the Alexandroupoli-Samothraki route which was disrupted earlier this month after the two ferries that used to connect the two ports broke down.
The route had been temporarily served by the Andros Jet ferry, which belongs to the company Seajets.

Small shipping firms fight for market share
Large passenger shipping companies no longer dominate the Greek market. According to a study by XRTC Business Consultants, the big players, Attica Group (which operates Blue Star, Super Fast and Hellenic Seaways), ANEK and Minoan Lines, accounted for 38 percent of sea passenger traffic in 2018, down from 57 percent in 2014.

Ferry runs into moored vessel in Piraeus, no injuries
A passenger ferry crashed on Monday afternoon into a high-speed passenger ship anchored at the shipbuilding zone in Perama, southwest Attica, due to a mechanical failure, port authorities said.
"Salaminomahos" was travelling from Paloukia, the main port of Salamina, to Perama, when it collided with WorldChampion Jet. No injuries were reported and passengers disembarked safely.
