The Croatia and Real Madrid footballer was last month declared Europe's best player, and also won the Golden Ball at the World Cup in Russia.
Modric beat Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus to the award - with the latter failing to show up at the event, the Best FIFA Football Awards, held in London on Monday.

Major retailer SPAR "has plans for Serbia"

Man bites policeman in southwestern Serbian town
Radio Sto Plus reported this on Tuesday, saying that the incident, which left the officer seriously injured, happened the day before.
The attack took place in Vuka Karaduica St. when a police patrol responded to a report of an intoxicated S.L. driving his BMW X5 into a street pole, and then parking the car in front of a high school.
