Tüpraş to halt output at oil refinery in İzmir

Turkey's largest oil refiner Tüpraş will temporarily stop production at its 220,000-barrel-per-day İzmir oil refinery as coronavirus lockdowns hit fuel demand, the firm has said in a stock exchange filing.

Output at the refinery, which has an annual processing capacity of 11.9 million tons, will be suspended from May 5 until July 1, according to the filing.

Family members of Turkey's two largest conglomerates sell stakes in companies

The founding family members of Turkey's Koç Holding and some non-management members of the family of another leading conglomerate, Sabancı Holding, have decided to sell stakes in the firms. 

Shares in the company fell sharply on May 25 following the related announcements. 

Turkey's refinery reaches record high sales in 2016, posts lower-than-expected decline in net profit

Tüpraş said it reached full capacity production and record sales volume with residuum upgrade capacity contribution in 2016 on late Feb. 13. 

The company also posted a lower-than-expected net profit with the contribution of its high performance in the last quarter of 2016.

Tüpraş, OMV Petrol Ofisi and Turkish Airlines have been named Turkey's largest companies by a leading economy and business magazine. 

The results of the Top 500 Private Company Survey of Turkey, organized by Capital Magazine in Vodafone's main sponsorship, were announced in a ceremony held in Istanbul late on Dec. 14, Anadolu Agency reported.
