Total readies drills off Cyprus

France's Total is preparing to drill for gas off Cyprus, close to ENI's huge Zohr discovery off the Egyptian coast which in 2015 renewed interest among oil majors for exploration in the Mediterranean.

Cyprus awarded ENI, Total and ExxonMobil exploration licenses near the Zohr field in December.

BP signs $2.2 bln Abu Dhabi oil deal

British oil giant BP secured a 10-percent share in an onshore oil concession in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 17 in a deal worth $2.2 billion, the companies said.

BP signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to take a stake in the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (ADCO) which operates the 40-year concession.

Oil Found in Bulgarian Black Sea Offshore Drilling

Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev has announced that oil was found in the Khan Asparuh block during offshore drilling earlier this year.

Donchev has not elaborated his remarks at the opening of a tripartite meeting of government, employers, and unions.

Bulgaria Govt Not Commenting on Reports of 'No Oil and Gas' in Khan Asparuh

Bulgaria's Deputy Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov has refrained from elaborating on reports that an offshore gas exploration at the Black Sea block of Khan Asparuh found no deposits.

"The information as to whether there are oil and gas is to be processed and passed on to the Ministry of Energy," Stankov has told the Bulgarian National Radio.

Seven oil majors to post 22 pct drop in profit: Fitch

The aggregate earnings of seven major EMEA oil companies will fall by 22 percent in 2016, and most integrated firms will see a significant deterioration in credit metrics as weaker downstream performance adds to the impact of lower oil prices on cash flows, said Fitch Ratings in an analysis on April 19.
