The extended Conference and Seminars program of this June's Posidonia 2024, including forums such as the Tradewinds Shipowners Forum and the HELMEPA Conference, which attract the most senior shipowners from around the globe, will address the most critical issues in the industry.

Turkey has reportedly acquired a third drillship which is bigger than the Fatih and the Yavuz, both currently prospecting for hydrocarbons in Cyprus' exclusive economic zone.

Greek shipowners face the prospect of not being paid for loads worth millions of euros or having them confiscated when they get involved with high-yield but high-risk trading in refined oil products with Venezuela. With the US sanctions to Caracas coming into force in April, it is likely that shippers' payment demands for deliveries made will be in vain.

In this year's TradeWinds Shipowners Forum, to take place on June 5 in the context of the Posidonia 2018 shipping fair, the focus will be on how advances in technology and alternative business models are rewriting the rules in how ships are owned, operated and traded.
