The first of five state-of-the-art White Arrow trains will arrive in Thessaloniki from Italy on January 18, according Italian-owned railway service operator Trainose.
It is set to make its passenger debut on the Athens-Thessaloniki route on March 25, on the occasion of the bicentennial of the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821.
Thermal cameras installed at Athens and Thessaloniki railway stations

Proastiakos introduces social distancing measures
Railway company TrainOSE has updated its electronic ticketing system to support social distancing on trains, officials said during a press briefing on safety measures to prevent Covid-19 infection during travel.
The company operates suburban railways, known in Greece as Proastiakos, as well as intercity passenger services.

Seven investors eye ELVO assets
Ernst & Young announced on Friday a tender for the sale of the assets of Hellenic Vehicle Industry (ELVO), in the capacity of special administrator for the troubled state company. Interest needs to be declared by April 2.
Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Friday that seven investors have already expressed informal interest.
