Tourism outlook clouded by vaccine delays, new strains
Amid fears of new variants of the coronavirus, new restrictions on movement have hit just as people were starting to look ahead to what is usually a busy time of year for travel.
British holiday bookings rise on vaccine rollout
Holiday company TUI said the vaccine rollout in Britain had boosted summer bookings from those aged 50 and over, with that age group accounting for 50% of all web bookings since the end of last year.

Greece, Cyprus among TUI’s main destinations this summer
European tour operator TUI said on Wednesday Greece and Cyprus are among its main travel destinations this summer, adding that its program will start on June 17.
According to the CEO of TUI Germany, Marek Andryszak, the travel plan also includes the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Portugal, while there will also be holiday trips to Croatia and Bulgaria.
TUI halts foreign holidays from Britain till July 1
Travel operator TUI has canceled all foreign holidays for British tourists until July 1 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sending shares in the German group down 6% on Friday.
