German airline Lufthansa said on July 30 it saw no let-up in the pressure on fares in Europe, mainly as budget carriers like Ryanair move in on its home market.,

Turkish Airlines is considering starting flights with its low-cost unit AnadoluJet to Germany, France and Britain, although no decision has yet been taken, the carrier's chief executive told a German paper.

More than 6 million people traveled during the Eid holiday across Turkey, with around 5 million of them traveling by bus, 700,000 by air and 300,000 by rail, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency. 

Istanbul?s Atatürk Airport saw all-time high flight traffic on July 21, with 1,389 airplanes taking off from or landing at the airport. The previous record ocurred on May 14 this year, with 1,375 landings and take-offs.

Turkish Airlines, Europe?s fourth-largest carrier, has announced it carried some 28.5 million passengers in the first six months of the year, an 8.5 percent increase over the same period of the previous year, in a written statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on July 14.

A Turkish Airlines airplane traveling from Istanbul to London made an emergency landing in Belgrade late on Monday "because of a suspicious iPad."

Turkish Airlines (THY), the country's flag carrier, will offer direct flights between Istanbul and Atlanta beginning in May 2016.

The new destination will be the airline's second to the southeastern United States following THY's decision to open a route to Miami.

SunExpress, a joint venture company of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, will increase the number of its flights to 700 a week this season, said Paul Schwaiger, the company's managing director, at a press conference held in Antalya June 23. 

"Our company has carried more than 63 million passengers since the date we were established 25 years ago.
