Hundreds of flights scrapped as French air traffic controllers strike
Hundreds of flights to and from France were expected to be canceled April 8 as air traffic controllers launched a two-day strike over working conditions.
The civil aviation authority has asked airlines to scrap around 40 percent of flights, warning of "disruption across the whole country."
Turkish Airlines plane in forced landing after window shatters
A Turkish Airlines passenger plane en route to Istanbul made a forced landing at Germany's Nuremberg Airport on April 8, after its left cockpit window shattered, the airline said.
The Dusseldorf to Istanbul flight diverted to Nuremberg, landing at 0658 GMT, a spokeswoman for the airline said.

Turkish Airlines has been awarded the Active Greece Awards 2015. Turkish Airlines General Manager Alp Yavuzeser accepted the award in Athens on Monday.

Resigned Turkish Airlines chairman says he will not run for parliament in elections
The board chairman of Turkish Airlines, Hamdi Topçu, announced his resignation on April 6, but refuted earlier rumors that he would run for parliament for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the June elections.
"I will not run for parliament in the coming elections. I will deal with my own businesses," Topçu told Do?an News Agency on April 7.

Turkey evacuates 230 more from Yemen
Turkey evacuated 230 more people, including 185 Turkish nationals, from the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, on April 5, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu has said.
A plane carrying 230 people is en-route to Istanbul, the minister posted on his Twitter account.

Turkey evacuates 55 citizens from Yemen
Turkey evacuated 55 of its nationals from the Yemeni city of Aden on April 3 with a military boat amid fighting and a bombing campaign from regional Sunni powers, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu said.
The boat will take the Turkish nationals to Djibouti, where they will take a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight to return home, Çavu?o?lu wrote on his Twitter account.

Turkish Airlines plane en route to Sao Paulo lands in Casablanca over bomb scare
A Turkish Airlines passenger plane flying from Istanbul to Sao Paulo made an emergency landing in Casablanca over a bomb scare, private broadcaster CNNTürk reported on March 30.
The plane, which left Istanbul at 9:30 a.m., landed in Casablanca at 3.30 p.m.
Security teams are set to search the plane, after a note regarding a bomb attack was found.

Turkish Airlines, the country's national carrier, said on March 9 it has decided to purchase a total of four A330-200F aircraft from European manufacturer Airbus.
