Gov't to aid Yumco, motorway blockade ends

BELGRADE - The government of Serbia and a delegation of employees from the Vranje-based Yumco company reached an agreement on Thursday on ending the blockade of the motorway to Macedonia.

Yumco employees have been on a general strike for one month, and on Wednesday morning they blocked the Belgrade-Skopje highway near Vranje.

Section of Corridor 10 blocked due to workers' protest

VRANJE - Traffic from Belgrade on Corridor 10 is currently blocked at Vranje due to a protest staged by workers of the Yumco factory, Vranje police spokesman Dragi Stamenkovic told Tanjug on Wednesday.

Stamenkovic said that the ongoing protest involves around 1,000 people and that traffic has been blocked since 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday.
