Demarche to Turkish ambassador over death of Serbian man

BELGRADE -- Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday gave a demarche to Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay over the murder of a Serbian man in Istanbul.

25-year-old Marko Ivković traveled to Turkey to attend the Galatasaray-Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) basketball match.

BELGRADE - Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented on Saturday a demarche to Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade Mehmet Kemal Bozay over the murder of a Serbian supporter in Istanbul ahead of the Galatasaray-Crvena Zvezda basketball match, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said today.

ISTANBUL - Crvena Zvezda supporter Marko Ivkovic (25) was stabbed to death on Friday evening outside the sports arena in Istanbul where the Serbian basketball team played its Euroleague match against local Galatasaray.

A supporter of the Serbian basketball club Red Star was stabbed and killed on Nov. 21 in Istanbul in front of the venue where a Euroleague game between Galatasaray Liv Hospital and the visiting side was being played.

BELGRADE - Secretary of State at the Serbian Defense Ministry Zoran Djordjevic met with General Mieczyslaw Gocul, chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, to discuss ways to promote defense cooperation, on Thursday.

The two officials discussed opportunities to further promote cooperation in the field of defense based on overall good relations between the two countries.

CHANIA - Serbia defeated Greece 2-0 in a friendly match in Chania, on Crete, on Tuesday.

Radoslav Petrovic scored the first goal 60 minutes into the game after a pass from Zoran Tosic, while Nemanja Gudelj scored in extra time.

Šešelj must be held accountable for murder of Zoran Đinđić

"Vojislav Šešelj's name has to be on the list of people accused for murder of former Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić. Political background of this crime must be investigated", says Rajko Danilović, lawyer of Đinđić's family.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met on Monday with UNICEF Representative Michel Saint-Lot, and expressed the commitment of Serbia to this organization and gratitude for its efforts to improve the position of children.
