The initiative Refugees Welcome started in November 2014 from Berlin aiming to create a new culture of welcome.
Since then, other countries have also participated in the program from Austria, to Spain and Portugal and now Greece.

Almost 880 million air passengers carried in 2014: Greece notes largest increase
In 2014, 879.4 million passengers travelled by air in the European Union (EU), up by 4.4% compared with 2013 and by 16.9% compared to 2009. Over this period, air passenger transport has steadily risen in the EU.
Voting for the Nov 1 polls starts abroad and at customs gates
Voting for the snap elections on Nov. 1 has started at Turkey's representatives in foreign countries and at border gates across the country.
A total of 2,895,885 Turkish citizens living abroad are eligible to vote either at 112 foreign representative offices in 54 countries or at 30 customs gates on Turkey's borders and international airports.
Austrian chancellor casts doubt on EU migrant 'hotspot' plans
Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann cast doubt on the workability of the so-called migrant hotspots European leaders plan to create by the end of next month in Greece and Italy to help manage large numbers of refugees.
5,000 refugees transferred from Lesvos so as not to be seen by Tsipras – Faymann
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras arrived at the airport of Mytilene, Lesvos island shortly before 14:00 in order to have a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, the mayor of Lesbos, Spyros Galinos, and other bodies focusing on refugees crisis.
According to LesvosPost.gr Mr. Tsipras arrived at the island accompanied by strong police presence.
Austrian Chancellor in Greece this week to visit refugee “hotspot”
Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann is visiting Athens this week to help Greece tackle its huge refugee problem.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will accompany the Austrian leader to the island of Lesbos in the east Aegean, one of the “hotspots” where refugees are registered before being relocated to other EU countries.

The International World Beard and Moustache Championships are underway in the little village of Leogang in Austria. More than 350 contestants from 20 countries are there to vy for an international placing.
For over a year, and more in some cases, the contestants have groomed and pruned their spectacular beards and moustaches as though they were works of art.
