BP, Azerbaijan extend oilfield contract
British oil giant BP and energy-rich Azerbaijan on Sept. 14 prolonged their sharing deal for the Caucasus nation's largest oilfields until 2050.
"This time round, the contract is being signed on better terms for Azerbaijan," the ex-Soviet nation's President Ilham Aliyev said during a signing ceremony in the capital, Baku.

Turkey, Azerbaijan to hold 12-day joint military drill from Sept 18
Azerbaijan and Turkey will perform a joint military drill in September, a ministry statement said on Sept. 14, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
"TurAz Kartalı 2017 (TurAz Eagle 2017) will continue for 12 days, from next Monday [Sept. 18] to the end of this month," the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said in the statement.

Turkey's first lady Emine Erdoğan will visit Bangladesh on Sept. 6 amid the ongoing tragedy of tens of thousands Rohingya Muslims forced to flee the violence in Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Çavuşoğlu has said.
Speaking on private broadcaster ATV, Çavuşoğlu confirmed that the first lady will have "close contact" with Rohingya Muslims who had escaped from Myanmar.
