IS Group Claims Responsibility for Istanbul Nightclub Attack

The Islamic State (IS) group says it carried out an attack that killed 39 and left dozens wounded during New Year celebrations in Istanbul.

In a statement quoted by international media, it says the raid was part of "the blessed operations that Islamic State is conducting against the protector of the cross, Turkey".

Bulgaria's UBB Bank Changes Owner

Belgium-based KBC group has finalized the purchase of the United Bulgarian Bank (UBB) and leasing company Interlease, according to its own statement.

The deal, with a price tag of EUR 610 M, gives KBC control over 99.9% of the bank's shares and 100% of Interlease.

KBC is the owner of CIBank and insurance company DZI in Bulgaria.

Mystery as NATO Auditor General is found shot dead in suspicious circumstances

POLICE in Belgium are probing the death of a high ranking NATO official after his body was discovered in his car with a gunshot wound to the head. According to reports, Yves Chandelon, the 62-year-old auditor general of NATO was found miles away from both his home and office.

Belgium Arrests Kosovar, Serbian 'ISIS Supporters'

Two men from Kosovo and a woman from Serbia were arrested on Wednesday in Belgium for suspected participation in terrorist activities linked to ISIS after house searches made by the police.

The Belgian prosecutors office said the three men are suspected of recruiting people to leave for Syria and of financing Islamic State, ISIS.

Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has gathered intelligence via imams from 38 countries on the activities of suspected followers of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, widely believed to be the mastermind of the failed July 15 coup attempt.
