Poland FM Slams EU Chief as 'Icon of Evil and Stupidity'

BELGRADE - The ongoing deterioration of relations between the EU and Poland took a further nosedive after Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski described the EU Council President Donald Tusk as "the icon of evil and stupidity."
IS Group Claims Responsibility for Istanbul Nightclub Attack
The Islamic State (IS) group says it carried out an attack that killed 39 and left dozens wounded during New Year celebrations in Istanbul.
In a statement quoted by international media, it says the raid was part of "the blessed operations that Islamic State is conducting against the protector of the cross, Turkey".
Identities of 35 victims, including 24 foreigners, confirmed in Istanbul attack
The identities of 35 victims killed in an armed attack at a nightclub in central Istanbul on Jan. 1 have been confirmed as 24 have been identified as foreign citizens, while eleven of them were reported to be Turkish citizens.
Bulgaria's UBB Bank Changes Owner
Belgium-based KBC group has finalized the purchase of the United Bulgarian Bank (UBB) and leasing company Interlease, according to its own statement.
The deal, with a price tag of EUR 610 M, gives KBC control over 99.9% of the bank's shares and 100% of Interlease.
KBC is the owner of CIBank and insurance company DZI in Bulgaria.

Belgium Arrests Kosovar, Serbian 'ISIS Supporters'
Two men from Kosovo and a woman from Serbia were arrested on Wednesday in Belgium for suspected participation in terrorist activities linked to ISIS after house searches made by the police.
The Belgian prosecutors office said the three men are suspected of recruiting people to leave for Syria and of financing Islamic State, ISIS.
