Leaders of the BRICS emerging economies meet in Johannesburg this week looking to widen the bloc's influence and push for a shift in global geopolitics.
South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to host China's President Xi Jinping, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for the annual three-day summit starting tomorrow.

Agriculture and food exports generate $12.2 billion in revenue
Türkiye's agriculture, food and drinks industry has generated a total of $12.23 billion in export revenues in the first six months of 2023.
The industry's imports, on the other hand, amounted to $12.46 billion, according to the Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations (TGDF).
Export and imports rose 1 percent and nearly 18 percent, respectively, from a year ago.

Lula voices support for more countries joining BRICS
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has said that he supports more countries joining the BRICS group of large developing nations, which currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The group will hold a summit in Johannesburg from Aug. 22 to 24. The meeting will have in hand a list of others desiring to join ther group.

Alef Manga, 28, is accused of accepting a bribe of about $11,000 to get booked in a Brazilian championship match involving his club Coritiba last year.
