Russians prevent kidnapping: Operation on the Atlantic VIDEO
The video shows a unit of Marines from the Russian destroyer "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" disembarking on the cargo ship "Lucija" and inspecting the vessel, reports the Russian agency TASS.
As the Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier, the ship "Lucija" under the flag of Panama, which was going from Togo to Cameroon, was attacked by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea.

Two lion cubs born in central Turkey
One of Turkey's largest zoos has announced its newest additions, namely, two newborn baby lions.

The Kayseri Zoo in central Turkey is home to more than 1,450 animals of 160 species, including lions, wolves, and deer.
After three lions were born in April, a week ago two more opened their eyes to the world.

Romania updates list of countries in COVID-19 red, yellow, green areas
Romania's National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) updated on Friday its list of countries or areas with high COVID-19 epidemiological risk. "The classification of the countries/areas by the cumulative rate of COVID-19 cases in order to sort the persons arriving in Romania accordingly and subject them to quarantine is hereby approved," reads CNSU Decision 39.
Turkey ranks 3rd worldwide with LNG import rises in 2020
Turkey ranked third in the world after China and India with an annual growth of 1.3 million tonnes in LNG imports in 2020, according to the latest report of the International Group of Liquefied Natural Gas Importers (GIIGNL).
China ranked first with imports of 7.2 million tonnes last year followed by India with 2.6 million tonnes.
Turkey condemns Boko Haram terror attack in Nigeria
Turkey on Dec. 26 condemned a deadly attack by the Boko Haram terror group in Nigeria that claimed over a dozen lives.
"We are deeply saddened to receive the news that many people lost their lives in a terrorist attack that took place in Baga region of Nigeria targeting the convoy of Borno Governor," Turkey's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
PSG-Başakşehir match suspended amid alleged racism
UEFA Champions League match between France's Paris Saint-Germain and Turkey's Medipol Başakşehir late on Dec. 9 was paused after an alleged racist remark targeting the Turkish club's technical staff.
In the 17th minute of the match at Parc des Princes, Başakşehir assistant manager Pierre Webo from Cameroon argued with the referee of the match about a position.

Turkey appoints new ambassadors
Turkey's Foreign Ministry has begun appointing new envoys to missions abroad, with the ministry's spokesperson, Hami Aksoy, being be assigned as Ankara's ambassador to Belgrade.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a phone conversation with some ambassadors to notify them on their new positions and extended his best wishes, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Dec. 8.
