Istanbul giants keep chasing dark horse Başakşehir
The Turkish league will resume this weekend after a one-week hiatus for World Cup 2018 qualification games, with all eyes on Medipol Başakşehir, which remains at the top of the standings after six match days.
The Istanbul side, which has played more than 300 games under coach Abdullah Avcı, will take on Atiker Konyaspor, another well-disciplined side, on Oct. 16.

Major truck-theft ring smashed
The Greek Police on Saturday announced the arrest of seven suspects believed to be key members of one of the biggest truck- and car-theft gangs active in Greece over the past few years.
The suspects - a Greek, three Albanians and one each from Nigeria, Somalia and Cameroon - are believed to have run the gang behind hundreds of vehicle thefts in different parts of Attica.
