Turkey appoints new ambassadors
Turkey's Foreign Ministry has begun appointing new envoys to missions abroad, with the ministry's spokesperson, Hami Aksoy, being be assigned as Ankara's ambassador to Belgrade.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a phone conversation with some ambassadors to notify them on their new positions and extended his best wishes, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Dec. 8.

Biden signals US diplomatic shift with new team
President-elect Joe Biden on Nov. 23 announced a foreign policy and national security team crammed with veterans from the Barack Obama years, signaling an end to the upheaval under President Donald Trump and a return to traditional U.S. diplomacy.

Dancers stranded in Antalya stay fit with practice
Forty-five acrobats and dancers from six countries, who came to Turkey's top tourism destination Antalya to perform night shows, are stranded in the Mediterranean city due to the coronavirus pandemic.
They are now practicing all day in a warehouse which they have converted into a stage.

6.6 Magnitude Earthquake near Cuba
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near Cuba today, according to Reuters, citing the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The strong earthquake was a depth of 2 kilometers, with an epicenter 48 kilometers southeast of Baracoa municipality, in the easternmost part of the island.
So far there are no data on injured people and material damage.
