Cyprus peace talks to restart in Geneva after recess

Cyprus talks aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the more-than forty-year-old conflict of the eastern Mediterranean island are set to restart on Nov. 20 in Switzerland following a one week recess.

Intensified U.N. sponsored talks were held in Switzerland's Mont Pelerin from Nov. 7 to 11, although there was no precise statement as expected at the end of the talks.

Athens pleased with progress in Cyprus talks

Talks between Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in Athens went extremely well, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos told Cypriot television channel RIK on Thursday, adding that the stance adopted by outgoing US President Barack Obama on the issue during his visit to Athens this week was constructive.

Constant GDP Growth in Europe Q3 2016

A slow but constant growth of GDP has been noticeable over the last three months in all of Europe, showed Eurostat data.

For the first time in years, not even a single economy reported a decrease in GDP.

On the contrary, all economies marked growth of between 0.1% and 0.8%, compared to the second quarter of 2016.
