Bulgaria has maintained its Rating in the Latest Edition of the Wealth of Nations Index
The Wealth of Nations Index is an innovative measure of economic development created by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute. Out of 38 classified countries (EU+OECD), Bulgaria ranks 36th. This is a rise of one notch compared to the previous edition. Ireland along with Switzerland and the United States are the top 3 countries on WNI.
Turks living abroad begin to cast ballots
The voting process to decide the next Turkish president and the parliamentary seats began for around 3.4 million Turks living abroad on April 27.
Turkish citizens can cast their votes without needing to book an appointment until May 9 at designated election bureaus and May 14 at border gates on 156 points across 73 countries, the Supreme Election Council (YSK) said.

Bulgaria has the Second Highest Hourly Wage Growth in the EU
In 2022, the average hourly wage in the entire EU economy was 22.9 euros, and in the Eurozone - 25.5 euros, according to data released today by the European statistical service Eurostat, cited by BTA. Compared to 2021, it grows by 4.4 percent in the EU and 4 percent in the Eurozone.
MAT: January and February inflation in Serbia lower than in six EU countries
BELGRADE - January and February y-o-y inflation in Serbia was higher than EU inflation, but also lower than in six individual EU member states, according to the latest issue of the Makroekonomske analize i trendovi (MAT) monthly, published by the Belgrade Institute of Economics and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
Finland joins NATO as Russian war prompts shift
Finland becomes the 31st member of NATO on April 4, in a historic strategic shift provoked by Moscow's war on Ukraine, which doubles the US-led alliance's border with Russia.
Last year, the Kremlin's all-out invasion of Ukraine upended Europe's security landscape and prompted Finland - and its neighbour Sweden - to drop decades of non-alignment.

NATO Survey: Half of Bulgarians do not want to Protect an Ally
Just over 50% of Bulgarians do not want to defend a NATO ally if it is attacked. Over 10% do not want NATO to protect them if Bulgaria is attacked.
These and other data show a sociological survey from November 2022 among the 30 member countries of the alliance plus Sweden and Finland.
Go-Ahead for ‘Greater Hungary’ Football Banners Irritates Romania
Romanian politicians and Romania's Football Federation criticised the Hungarian Football Federation, MLSZ, for announcing on Tuesday that UEFA had decided that displaying the map of Greater Hungary on flags or banners at matches does not constitute a racist act, so Hungarian supporters will be able to use the symbol at official matches.
Seventeen EU countries, Norway agree to jointly buy ammunition for Ukraine
Seventeen European Union countries plus Norway agreed on Monday to jointly procure ammunition to help Ukraine and to replenish their own stockpiles, the EU's European Defence Agency said.
Ballot boxes to be set up in 15 more countries
The Supreme Election Board (YSK) has announced that ballot boxes will be established in 15 more countries in the elections to be held on May 14, YSK President Ahmet Yener has announced.
YSK decided to set up ballot boxes in 21 overseas representations in 15 countries, in which Turkish citizens did not cast vote in previous polls.
