Trips of Bulgarians Abroad Rise 1.6% Y/Y in March

The trips of Bulgarian residents abroad rose by 1.6% on the year in March, reaching 318,300, the country's statiscics office NSI announced on Monday.

Spain led the list of countries that registered the largest increase in the number of visitors from Bulgaria (+16.9%), followed by Romania (+15%), the Czech Republic (+12.6%), Greece (+7.7%), Serbia (+6.9%) and Germany (+5.3%).

Serbian soldiers depart for Moscow

BELGRADE -- A Serbian Army (VS) Guard unit on Saturday department from the Batajnica airport near Belgrade for Moscow where they will take part in the Victory Day parade.

The soldiers were seen off by Serbian Army (VS) Chief of Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic and Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin.

"Monument to Michael Jackson" wins three more awards

BELGRADE - "Monument to Michael Jackson," a movie by Serbian director and screenwriter Darko Lungulov, got another three awards at two international festivals - in Nashville and Rouen.

Lungulov's movie got the Grand Jury Prize and Best Actor Award for Boris Milivojevic at the Nashville 2015 Film Fest in the United States.

Days of Lilac event held in Belgrade

BELGRADE - The Days of Lilac event was held in Belgrade on Sunday to mark the 765th anniversary of the arrival of the French princess Helen of Anjou in Serbia and her marriage to King Uros I.

The event, traditionally held in Kraljevo, the hub of the Serbian state of Rascia in the 11th century, had its premiere in the Serbian capital this time around.

Erdogan expresses ire over countries recognizing Armenian genocide

Recep Tayiip Erdogan expressed his ire and launched a verbal attack against countries that have formally recognized the Armenian Genocide.

 

The Turkish President accused France, Germany, Russia and Austria for supporting “claims based on Armenian lies”. His verbal remonstrations included the US, even though Obama avoided using the word “genocide” in his official statements.
