Construction work on a basketball court jointly funded by a Greek government donation has begun in Ghana, the Foreign Ministry tweeted on Friday.

Dendias visits Greek school in Ghana

The Greek government has promised a donation to a school in Ghana for the construction of a basketball court.

The donation, which was not disclosed, was announced by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias during a visit to the St Nicholas' Greek School in Tema, on the Atlantic coast.

The school relies solely on private donations and volunteers.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias began his three-day tour in West Africa by meeting Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara in the city of Abidjan on Wednesday.

"A fruitful discussion on enhancing Greece-Ivory Coast relations, including in economy and investments, security issues in the region and the Russian invasion of Ukraine," was had by the two men noted Dendias in a tweet.

Tunisia film festival opens with 'taboo' abortion movie

Tunisia's prestigious Carthage Film Festival has opened with a screening of "Lingui" -a movie from Chad about a teenage girl who seeks an abortion.

The festival showcases 57 diverse films from 45 Arab and African countries, with screenings not only in cinemas, but in prisons and military barracks too.

Day 2 of the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement

More than 105 countries, as well as nine other delegations from international organizations, gathered in the Serbian capital for a two-day gathering. The hosts of the gathering, which is being held at the Belgrade Fair, in memory of the Summit held on September 1, 1961, in Belgrade, are Serbia and Azerbaijan this year.

The ceremonial opening of the Commemorative Session at the Belgrade Fair, at which the President of Serbia will address as the co-host of the Commemorative Gathering, is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., the Office for Media relations of the President of the Republic of Serbia announced.
After that, the plenary session will begin at 10 a.m., at which the heads of delegations will address.
