Wary of brinkmanship, eurozone steers away from new deadlines for Greece, official says

Eurozone finance ministers will not set any deadline for Greece to come up with reforms to get more funding because such time limits lead to brinkmanship in negotiations, a senior eurozone official said on Tuesday.

Turkey rescues 30 Syrian migrants from sinking boat

Turkey's coastguard rescued 30 Syrians from a boat heading towards Greece after their vessel began to take on water in the Aegean Sea, state media said April 21.

The rescue operation came amid a surge in the numbers of migrants seeking to reach Europe, following the Mediterranean's worst migrant disaster in which as many as 800 people drowned off Libya.

Merkel-Tsipras to hold Brussels meeting on Thursday

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will be meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday, within the framework of the European Summit scheduled to take place in Brussels. It should be pointed out that the European Union emergency Summit was called to talk about the recent tragic events in the Mediterranean, with the seemingly continuous shipwrecks filled with illegal migrants.
