Massive Iceberg Threatens Greenland Village as Residents are Evacuated
A massive iceberg has drifted close to a village in Greenland, sparking fears it could break up and send waves crashing into homes.
The iceberg has come close to properties on the island of Innaarsuit in western Greenland, whose population of 169 have been evacuated from their homes.

This past June, late one night, a team of scientists camped out on a fjord in Greenland heard a roar. When icebergs are born, they fill the ocean with noise, and the Helheim Glacier was cracking. The researchers saw, LiveScience reports, "puffs of ice" tossed into the air as a new iceberg began to break off from the glacier.

OSLO (Reuters) - Britain and the United States launched a $25 million project on Monday to study the risks of a collapse of a giant glacier in Antarctica that is already shrinking and nudging up global sea levels.

A team of investigators and engineers headed to Canada Sunday to inspect an Airbus A380 superjumbo operated by Air France which was forced to make an emergency landing after an engine explosion.
The double-decker aircraft carrying 496 passengers and 24 crew had taken off from Paris on Saturday bound for Los Angeles and was several hours into the flight when the blow-out occurred.

One third of the Greek population will be over 60 years old by 2525, according to the World Heat5lh Organisation (WHO). Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Finland and Japan are also projected to have 30% of their citizens older than 60 years.
