Dacic: Request for urgent UNSC session due to overall situation in Kosovo-Metohija

ROME - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic said on Monday Serbia's request for an urgent UNSC session was due to the overall situation in Kosovo-Metohija, the terror against Serbs, an attempt to ban the Serbian dinar and violations of UNSCR 1244 and all other international documents related to Kosovo-Metohija.

Serbia submits request for extraordinary UNSC session over Kosovo-Metohija

NEW YORK - Serbia's Ambassador to the UN Nemanja Stevanovic submitted on Monday a request by the Republic of Serbia to call an extraordinary UNSC session over the situation in Kosovo-Metohija.

Stevanovic submitted the request to the political adviser of the Guyanese mission to the UN.

Guyana is presiding over the UNSC.

Vucic: Serbia to request urgent UNSC session over Kosovo-Metohija

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Friday Belgrade would request an urgent UNSC session over the situation in Kosovo-Metohija.

In a public address from the Palace of Serbia, Vucic said Serbia's representative to the UN would submit a written request on Monday.

The U.N. Security Council scheduled an emergency closed meeting Friday at the request of Guyana following Venezuela's weekend referendum claiming the vast oil- and mineral-rich Essequibo region that makes up a large part of its neighbor.

Let's recall that in a public address after Sunday's referendum on the annexation of the Essequibo region, Nicolas Maduro presented a map showing the territory of Guyana on the Venezuelan side.
The Essequibo region is rich in oil and has been a disputed territory since the 19th century when Guyana was a British colony.
