LJUBLJANA - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will on Friday and Saturday be paying a visit to Slovenia, to be hosted by Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar, the Slovenian government has said in a statement.

Orban and Putin agree to extend gas contract

BUDAPEST -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that it was important to continue negotiations and cooperation with Turkey over gas supply routes.

Russia might direct a new pipe to Bulgaria functioning as a ramification of its planned gas pipeline to Turkey, President Vladimir Putin has hinted.

Speaking at a press conference after his meeting with Hungarian officials on Tuesday, he added such a project might be carried out if it could rely on EU funding.

The Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom will start the construction of two units at the Hungarian nuclear power plant (NPP) Paks in the spring.

This was announced by the chief executive of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko in Budapest on Tuesday, TASS news agency reports.

BUDAPEST -- The prime ministers of Serbia and Hungary, Aleksandar Vucic and Viktor Orban, held an informal meeting late on Monday in the town of Subotica, northern Serbia.

According to the press service of the Hungarian premier, Vucic and Orban discussed "strengthening the cooperation between the two countries."

The renewal of long-term contracts for gas supplies and further energy cooperation are expected top the agenda of Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Budapest on Tuesday.

Putin is to meet Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in what will be his first trip to an EU country since June 2014.

Good practices in the implementation of electronic government services will be presented at an expert workshop in Sofia organized by the embassies of the four countries of the Visegrad Group in Sofia on 26 February.
