Turkish FM corrects Brit presenter’s ‘Turkey’ with ‘Türkiye’
During an annual international conference held in the Slovenian city of Bled, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu corrected the mistake of the panel's presenter who said "Turkey" instead of "Türkiye" while introducing him.
Top Turkish diplomat attended the 17th Bled Strategic Forum on Aug. 29 as a speaker at a panel called "How many Europes exist inside Europe?"
Fajon says sanctions against Russia necessary
Bled – Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon defended EU sanctions against Russia in a debate at the Bled Strategic Forum on Monday, arguing there was no alternative. She acknowledged, though, that things may get tough.

Stoltenberg: NATO and the US to Strengthen their Presence in the Arctic
"NATO and the US should increase their presence in the Arctic amid increased Russian military activity in the region". This is what NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a comment to Welt am Sonntag.
"NATO must strengthen its presence in the Arctic", believes the Secretary General of the Alliance, without specifying what he means.
Icelandic president paying official visit
Ljubljana – Icelandic President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson will start a two-day official visit to Slovenia on Sunday. The situation in Ukraine, food and energy security, Western Balkans, and EU enlargement will top the agenda.

Pahor and Johannesson discus Ukraine, Western Balkans
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor and his Icelandic counterpart Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson called for a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine crisis as they met in Ljubljana on Saturday. They highlighted Slovenia’s important role in the Western Balkans and reaffirmed the good relations between Slovenia and Iceland.
‘Dragon Ball’ roars to top of box office
Computer-animated martial arts film "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero," the 21st in the Japanese franchise, seized control of the North American box office last weekend with an estimated take of $20.1 million, industry watcher Exhibitor Relations reported on Aug. 21.

Bulgaria has Stopped 50,000 Hacker Attacks from Russia and Belarus since the Start of the War
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Bulgaria has blocked about 50,000 IP addresses and 500 domains from Russia and Belarus, from which hacker attacks were attempted. This was announced by Deputy Interior Minister Tanya Raycheva during an informal meeting of the Council "Justice and Internal Affairs".
All of the EU except Bulgaria and Hungary Demand the Expulsion of Russia from World Sports
The sports ministers of more than 30 European and non-European countries adopted a common call for Russia and Belarus to be completely removed from international sports. Bulgaria and Hungary are not among the EU countries, and from the European Economic Area Switzerland has not signed up
Polish Minister Kamil Bortniczuk presented the common position, which states:
Slovenia 7th globally in environmental performance
Ljubljana – Slovenia ranks seventh out of 180 countries in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), which is calculated by Yale University to assess the state of sustainable environmental care.
Denmark tops the rankings with a score of 77.9, followed by the UK with 77.7 and Finland with 76.5. Malta scored 75.2 points, Sweden 72.7 and Luxembourg 72.3.
