Argentina won’t join BRICS as scheduled, says member of Milei’s transition team
Argentina will not be joining the BRICS bloc of developing economies next year as scheduled, a senior official in President-elect Javier Milei's team has said.
"We will not join the BRICS," Diana Mondino, who Milei picked as foreign minister once he is sworn into office on Dec. 10, wrote on X.

Some of the 40 construction workers trapped in a collapsed road tunnel for a fourth day were sick as falling debris and technical glitches delayed the work to free them, officials in northern India said Wednesday.
Nepal Bans TikTok to Preserve Social Harmony
Nepal has banned the Chinese app TikTok because it considers its content harmful to social harmony, the BBC reported.
The decision comes days after the introduction of a new rule requiring companies that own social networks to open their liaison offices in the country.
TikTok has about a billion monthly users, but is banned in several countries, including India.

Rescue efforts enter third day at site of India tunnel collapse
More than a hundred rescuers in northern India on Tuesday struggled for a third day to save workers trapped underground after the road tunnel they were building collapsed.
Excavators have been removing debris since Sunday morning from the site in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand to create an escape tunnel for the 40 workers, who are all alive.
