'Red lines' vs 'sharp lines' in foreign policy

After attending the "Victory Day" reception at the presidency on Aug. 30, I drew the following conclusions:

- Turkey is ready to conduct all kinds of maneuvers to prevent unwanted situations and fait accomplis to its south. Whatever is necessary will be done. The decision has been taken. I saw the sense of relief that this decision has been taken at the highest level. 

Moody's upgrades Turkish economic growth forecast

Turkey's economy has continued its recovery in the first half of 2017 after growth bounced back in the last quarter of 2016 and was similarly robust in the first quarter, Moody's Investors Service has announced.        
"As a result, we have raised our 2017 growth forecast to 3.7 percent from 2.6 percent. We expect growth in 2018 to average 3.2 percent," Moody's said on Aug. 30.    

Greece’s Energean gets Israeli approval to develop offshore fields

 

Greece’s Energean Oil & Gas announced on August 30 that its subsidiary Energean Israel, a 50/50 joint venture between Energean and Kerogen Capital, has received approval from the Israeli Petroleum Commissioner for its Field Development Plan (FDP) for the development of the Karish and Tanin natural gas fields, offshore Israel. The FDP application was submitted on 20 June 2017.

Israel must end 'occupation' undermining two-state solution possibility: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Aug. 28 urged Tel-Aviv to halt its "occupation attempts" undermining the possibility of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Speaking at a joint press conference in the capital Ankara after talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Erdoğan said a peaceful resolution to the crisis would "also benefit the Israelis."
