Japan Credit Rating confirms Turkey's rating, outlook
Japan Credit Rating (JCR) has confirmed Turkey's long-term issuer rating as "BBB-" and its outlook as "stable."
Tipsarevic overcomes Japan's Daniel, to face Karlovic
TOKYO - Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic has got off to a successful start at the Tokyo ATP tennis tournament after beating Taro Daniel of Japan 6-2, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Tipsarevic won after 82 minutes of play and will next face Ivo Karlovic of Croatia, who beat Argentine Federico Delbonis in the first round.
Tipsarevic and Karlovic are 1-1 head-to-head.
Japan's IHI to make compressors in Turkey
IHI will become the first Japanese company to establish a factory for compressors in Turkey, which it sees as a base for exporting the machines to Europe, the Middle East and other growing markets.
The Tokyo-based heavy industry group will partner with Turkish industrial machinery maker Dalgakıran Makina on the joint-venture plant.

IMF: World debt to reach record high
A study released by the IMF revealed that private and public debt across the globe have reached unprecedented levels. The report claims the aggregate debt last year exceeded the world’s generated wealth by more than double. Not counting the financial sector, global debt amounted to 152 trillion US dollars at the end of 2015, translated into 255% of world’s nominal GDP.

IMF warns of protectionist threat to global growth
The International Monetary Fund on Oct. 4 said protectionist political trends risked "turning back the clock" on free trade, warning of a low-growth future for the global economy.
In its new World Economic Outlook report, the global crisis lender also sounded an alarm over what it called a "dangerous" credit binge in China.

Uruma city's board of education announced the discovery beneath the ruins of Katsuren Castle this week saying the coins are believed to date back to the the third or fourth century, Asahi reports.

Erdogan disputes Treaty of Lausanne
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan indicated that Ankara “gave away” Aegean islands to Greece under the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923, the pact that defined the borders of modern Turkey following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. In a speech to regional officials in Ankara on Thursday, Erdogan expressed his regret for the border decisions imposed by the pact.
