A delegation of EU ambassadors to Turkey was impressed by an archaeological site in Turkey's northeastern Kars province, Ani, also known as "the world city" or "cradle of civilizations".
According to the UNESCO website, Ani, which is next to Turkey's closed border with Armenia, was the capital of medieval Armenian kingdom of the Bagratides in the 10th century.
One in ten employed persons aged 18 years or over in the EU were found to be at risk of poverty in 2018. Over recent years, this share has risen from 8.6% in 2008 to 9.5% in 2018.
The in-work poverty risk in the EU differs slightly between women and men. In 2018, 9.9% of employed men were at risk of poverty compared to 9.1% of women.
New EU rules on short-stay visas apply worldwide from 2 February 2020. They make it easier for legitimate travellers to apply for a visa to come to Europe, facilitating tourism, trade and business, while providing more resources for countering irregular migration risks and threats to internal security.

Young Romanian tennis player Nicholas David Ionel and Swiss Leandro Riedi won the boys' doubles event at the 2020 Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year on Friday after defeating Mikolaj Lorens (Poland) / Karlis Ozolins (Latvia) 6-7 (8-10) 7-5 10-4 in the final.
