Inflation in Serbia higher than in EU in April-May, lower than in two EU states in April

BELGRADE - Serbian y-o-y inflation was higher compared to the EU in April-May and also lower compared to two EU member states in April and lower than in one EU member state in May, according to the latest issue of the MAT economic monthly, a publication of the Belgrade Institute of Economics and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

Threat of Expulsion: Russians must take an Exam in Latvia

Latvian language exams are held in Latvia for the Russian-speaking population.

If someone fails the test, they will have to leave the country.

The expulsion affects people under 75 who have Russian passports.

For 1/4 of the population of Latvia, the mother tongue is Russian.

According to statistics, about 20,000 of them have Russian passports.

Additional seat for Slovenia in EU Parliament

Slovenia will get an additional seat in the European Parliament under a proposal adopted by the parliament on 15 June. The new distribution must now be okayed by the heads of state.

The proposal would award two seats to Spain and the Netherlands, and one to Slovenia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Slovakia, Ireland and Latvia.

Slovenia would thus have nine seats.

Türkiye seeks away victory against Latvia

Serbia successfully defend 3x3 basketball world cup title

VIENNA - The Serbia men's national 3x3 basketball team has successfully defended its World Cup title by beating the United States 21-19 in this year's World Cup final in Vienna on Sunday.

Supported by a large crowd of Serbian fans, Dejan Majstorovic, Marko Brankovic, Mihailo Vasic and Strahinja Stojacic overcame a 19-15 deficit to win the sixth World Cup gold for Serbia.
