Bulgaria Had High Rates of Potentially Amenable Deaths in 2012 - Eurostat

Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania and Latvia topped the list of number of amenable deaths in 2012, the EU's statistical body Eurostat has said.

According to the agency's latest publication, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands are the EU members which the lowest amenable mortality rates.

EU Commissioner for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic to Visit Bulgaria on September 15

European Commission Vice-President in charge of Energy Union Maros Sefcovic is to visit Bulgaria on September 15.

The visit of Sefcovic to Bulgaria will be part of his Energy Union Tour, which was launched in May.

During the tour, he is visiting the member states of the EU to present the benefits of the union to each country.

Jens Stoltenberg: Tanks in Bulgaria are Deployed by US, not NATO

NATO would not do anything in Bulgaria unless the country specifically demands that. That was the statement made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Tuesday in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.

The decision for the dislocation of heavy weaponry to Bulgaria has been made by the US and not by NATO.

NATO Chief Opens New Unit in Romania

NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg was due in Romania on Thursday on his first official visit, to discuss consolidation of the Alliance's capacities on its eastern flank and open a NATO Force Integration Unit, NFIU.

Stoltenberg was due to meet President Klaus Iohannis, acting Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea and the Foreign and Defence ministers.
